We both met at Winthrop University! We were both volunteering for Class of 2022 Freshman Move-in! He was volunteering because he was an RA, and I was volunteering through Greek Life; I'm an ADPi! He was directing traffic, and he feels that he was doing a great job at it. However, one of us (guess who!) didn't think he was doing such a great job, so she went over to give some helpful "pointers"! Several weeks later, we were both at an information session for a student organization that we were both interested in, and we discovered we were both going to be at a mutual friend's house later that night. We exchanged phone numbers that night and had our first date a few days later at Wing Bones in Downtown Rock Hill!! Soon after, we made things official! When Darien decided to pursue his doctorate at the University of Delaware after graduating from Winthrop, I stayed in South Carolina, and we began our journey as a long distance couple! We did five years of long distance before Darien graduated, and now we are living in Florida together!
